About Zach Ferrenburg

Zach Ferrenburg, MS, RSCC, CSCS, CPSS, is a human performance coach, educator, and consultant specializing in tactical human performance, strength and conditioning, and applied sport science. He currently serves as a Soldier Readiness and Performance Coach supporting the U.S. Army's Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) System, where he helps Soldiers improve physical readiness, resilience, and long-term performance through evidence-based coaching.

Before transitioning into the tactical setting, Zach directed strength and conditioning programs for 24 varsity sports at Shelbyville High School and has worked with athletes ranging from youth competitors to NCAA Division I student-athletes, firefighters, and military personnel. He also serves as an Adjunct Faculty member in the Department of Kinesiology at Anderson University, where he teaches future health and performance professionals.

Zach's work focuses on bridging the gap between research and real-world application. His interests include strength and conditioning, force-velocity profiling, performance analytics, coach development, and building human performance systems that produce measurable results. He has published research on athletic performance, and serves as a mentor for the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Tactical Professional Development Group.

Whether coaching Soldiers, developing athletes, mentoring coaches, or writing about human performance, Zach is driven by a simple philosophy: the best programs are built on sound science, thoughtful coaching, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
